On July 21, 2012 former football stand out from Orange Lutheran High School,
“I am so excited to have this event and to begin to raise money for my foundation, last year was my first year in the NFL so now that I’m settling in and getting used to that transition I want to get involved as much as possible and be able to give back to my hometown along with the city I now play in, which is St. Louis. My foundation will help support underprivileged kids in the city along with assisting those in need to be able to attend extra-curricular activities outside of their normal school day, which may be a sports camp, extra reading classes, anything they need that may be out of reach price wise, we want to help make sure all kids can go to camp and have those great experiences like I did growing up.”
The basketball event will be held at Austin’s former high school and is $15 per ticket. After the game, the OC Sports Bar & Grill will host a reception and celebration that is also open to the public where VIP and General Admission tickets are available online at www.AustinPettisFoundation.org . At the reception fans will have a change to meet Austin, get autographs and bid on silent auction items in which proceeds will also benefit the Austin Pettis Foundation.
About the Austin Pettis Foundation
The Austin Pettis Foundation’s mission is to broaden the life experiences of inner-city, underprivileged and disadvantaged youth by raising money for them to attend various sports camps. The camps provide a complete package of sports training (various sports available) that have a lasting and positive influence.
The Foundation knows that great possibilities are started by boys and girls being molded and influenced from attending camps. Many are unable to afford it for reasons out of their control.
By building character and integrity in youths through these sport camps and clinics we can put all children on the path to a great future with hope and opportunity.
