Daddy Knows Best with Cody Davis

The Rams sat down with new father Cody Davis to discuss fatherhood as an NFL player.

Q: Tell us about your son?
A: His name is Kane Matthew Davis. He was born Feb. 26, 2016. He was 9 pounds, 3 ounces and 21.5 inches long.

Q: Do people think he looks more like you or your wife?
A: The family says he favors my wife more. Apparently, I'm the only one who thinks otherwise. But, he definitely shares a little bit of both of our features.

Q: What does fatherhood mean to you?
A: It means everything to me. Just seeing how hard my wife and I worked to be where we are now, and being blessed and fortunate to raise a child of our own. It fuels my motivation on and off the field, because I know I do what I do for my family. They're the most important thing to me.

Q: What is the most important lesson you want to teach your children?
A: That nothing in the world is given to you. You have to work hard and always trust in the Lord to get what you want in this world.

Q: What is the funniest thing Kane has ever done?
A: The first time I changed a diaper was pretty funny, because he let out a huge one, and I wasn't ready for all of that! I was like, 'Whoa, that's a lot!' So I let my wife take most of the load after that, literally.

Q: How fast can you change a diaper?
A: After that first time, I don't even know now. I would consider myself pretty fast though. I think I can get under a minute.
