Rams Recognize Breast Cancer Awareness
As part of the NFL’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, “A Crucial Catch,” Sunday’s game will serve as the Rams’ designated breast cancer awareness game. The Rams will partner with Zeta Tau Alpha to pass out pink ribbons to fans as they enter the Edward Jones Dome. The team, in partnership with 7UP TEN, has also identified 50 St. Louisans who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer to form the “Schnucks Survivor Tunnel presented by 7UP TEN” that the players will run through during team introductions. 7UP TEN has also provided additional tickets for breast cancer survivors to attend Sunday’s game.
At halftime, the Rams current cheerleaders will join with alumni cheerleaders and junior cheerleaders for a performance called, “Cheer for a Cure.” As part of their involvement in “A Crucial Catch,” American Cancer Society will be providing 50 volunteers to unfurl a large pink ribbon during the halftime show. An additional 150 representatives from Maritz, Ameren Missouri and Express Scripts, some of whom are survivors, will join in the halftime performance. The proceeds from the “Cheer for a Cure” halftime performance will benefit American Cancer Society. The team has also pledged an additional $1,000 to American Cancer Society for every Rams’ reception during the game.
In support of breast cancer awareness, Levy Restaurants has donated breakfast for survivors and volunteers participating in the pregame and halftime performances. Throughout the game, breast cancer-related messages from Rams players and cheerleaders will be shown on the video boards. In addition to select players and coaches wearing pink game apparel, fans will notice on-field pink ribbon stencils, special game balls with pink ribbon decals, pink goal post wraps and “A Crucial Catch” wall banners. Game-worn pink merchandise and footballs will be autographed post-game and auctioned at www.nfl.com/auction. All NFL Auction proceeds from the sale of breast cancer awareness items during the month of October will benefit American Cancer Society.
