Game Preview: The Rams Will Close Out Their Season in Seattle

Posted Dec 26, 2013

For the second consecutive year, the Rams will close out their season in Seattle as they face the Seahawks on Sunday at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks hold a 19-11 advantage in the all-time series, and Seattle has won each of the last two meetings, including a 14-9 win over the Rams in Week 8 at the Edward Jones Dome.

Rams DE Robert Quinn is making quite a case to be the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year. In last week’s win over Tampa Bay, Quinn broke the franchise’s single-season sack record when he tallied his 18th of the season to pass Kevin Carter (17 in 1999).

Quinn’s 18 sacks top all NFL players this season, and he’s tied for the league lead with seven forced fumbles. His six sack-fumbles are also a league best.

Last week’s 3.0-sack performance was Quinn’s third this season and was the fifth time this year that he’s recorded multiple sacks in a game. Coaches have credited him with 34 QB pressures and 33 QB hits. Quinn is at the heart of a Rams defense that has 49 sacks as a team, the third highest total in the NFL this season.

Quinn’s standout season hasn’t been limited to just the pass. According to coaches’ grades, Quinn has a team-high 15 tackles for loss on the season, including one in each of the last five games.
