Posted Jan 18, 2018

Check out the most impressive numbers from running back Todd Gurley's record-setting 2017 campaign.

Rams running back Todd Gurley had an incredible 2017. This season, Gurley had the best year of his young career — recording a league-leading 2,093 yards from scrimmage and 19 total touchdowns. Plus, the Georgia product will be on his way to his second Pro Bowl at the end of the month and earned PFWA Offensive Player of the Year.

Here’s a recap of Gurley’s season by the numbers:

1st running back since Darren McFadden in 2010 to record at least three rushing touchdowns and at least one receiving touchdown in a single game. He did so against the Seahawks in Week 15, becoming the first player to post four touchdowns in a game this season. Plus, he is the first player in Rams history to rush for at least two touchdowns at CenturyLink Field.

2 career Pro Bowl nods for Gurley. The Georgia product will be headed to Orlando at the end of the month, joining many of his fellow teammates at the NFL’s annual all-star game.

3 NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Gurley became the first running back to win the award in consecutive weeks since the awards inception in 1984 for his Week 15 and 16 performances. He was also the first player in franchise history to receive the award in back-to-back weeks.

4th most touchdowns scored in a season in franchise history. Gurley passed running back Greg Bell (18 in 1988) and led the league overall with 19 touchdowns scored.

5th most receiving yards for a running back in single season franchise history. Gurley (778) edged Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk (765 in 2001) for No. 5 on the list.

6 receiving touchdowns scored — the most of his three-year career.

12 times Gurley totaled at least 100 yards from scrimmage in 15 games. The number marks an remarkable turnaround from 2016, when the Georgia product recorded 100 yards from scrimmage only once in 16 games.

13 rushing touchdowns scored. He also scored 13 total touchdowns on the road this season, tying Faulk’s record from 2000 for the most single-season touchdowns scored on the road in franchise history.

80 yards — the longest touchdown reception of Gurley’s career came in Week 16’s victory over the Titans to clinch the NFC West title. The touchdown catch was also the second-longest reception by a running back this season.

114 total points scored — making Gurley the only skill player to be ranked in the NFL’s top-20 scoring list for 2017.

1,305 yards rushing, second to only the Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt (1,327 yards rushing).

2,093 yards from scrimmage. Gurley became just the 3rd player in NFL History to have at least 2,000 yards from scrimmage, 10 rushing touchdowns, and more than five receiving touchdowns in a single season.

Too many to count — the amount of “Gurley for MVP" endorsements. Several Rams players — including defensive tackle Aaron Donald and quarterback Jared Goff — as well as head coach Sean McVay have already endorsed Gurley for the honor. Plus, many in the sports media community believe Gurley’s production this season is deserving of the award.
