Hayes Re-Signs with Rams

DE William Hayes has started 20 games over the last two seasons for the Rams.

A key piece at defensive end, William Hayes has re-signed with the Rams on a three-year contract.

Hayes started nine games in 2014 and the last 11 games of 2015, becoming a force alongside defensive tackles Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Hayes finished second on the team with 5.5 sacks and 41 quarterback pressures last year, with 68 total tackles, seven quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles.

At this point, Hayes would still be first up on the depth chart at defensive end.

Over his eight-year career, Hayes has played in 110 games, starting 32 racking up 30.5 sacks in that time. He’s also registered eight forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries. He began his career as a fourth-round pick by the Titans in 2008. Hayes spent four years in Tennessee before signing with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.
