Rams Acquire Quarterbacks Quinn, Davis

Posted Oct 23, 2013

In a move to improve the team’s depth at the quarterback position, the Rams signed Austin Davis and Brady Quinn on Tuesday. In a corresponding roster move, the Rams released G Brandon Washington and practice squad LB Jonathan Stewart. QB Sam Bradford was moved to the injured reserve.

Davis begins his second tour of duty with the Rams. He served as the Rams’ third-string quarterback in 2012, and competed with current starter Kellen Clemens during training camp this year for the team’s backup quarterback job. Davis was released on August 31.

Quinn is a six-year veteran who will be joining his fifth team. He most recently served as a backup for the New York Jets before being cut on Monday. For his career, Quinn has appeared in 24 games, including 20 starts. He started eight games last year for the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 112 of 197 attempts (57 percent) for 1,141 yards and two touchdowns for a passer rating of 60.1.

Both quarterbacks will practice with the team on Wednesday.
