Rams Host Washington Redskins In 2012 Home Opener

ST. LOUIS – The Rams will kick off the 2012 season home opener on Sunday versus the Washington Redskins at 3:05 p.m. A limited number of tickets remain, and can be purchased at or at the Edward Jones Dome box office Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. or starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The game will air on KTVI-FOX 2 in St. Louis. The game will also be broadcast on 101 ESPN.

Below are some of the highlights taking place:

Salute to Everyday Heroes
The Rams and team partner Edward Jones will welcome area police officers, firefighters and EMTs to the Edward Jones Dome to help unfurl an American flag during the singing of the National Anthem, which will be performed by retired U.S. Navy officer, Generald Wilson. The colors will be presented by the St. Louis Fire Department Honor Guard.

Fans to Welcome Coach Fisher to Edward Jones Dome
All fans in attendance for Sunday’s home opener will receive their very own Fisher stache and will be encouraged to wear their mustaches throughout the first quarter of the game in an attempt to break the previous Guinness World Record of 250 for the “largest gathering of people wearing false mustaches.”

The Rams also launched a mobile application that allows fans to apply a digital mustache to photos. Users are encouraged to upload their pictures to Facebook and Twitter with the #FisherStache hashtag.

Dawn Harper to Serve as Honorary Coin Toss Captain
Olympic Medalist and East St. Louis, Ill. native Dawn Harper will serve as an honorary coin toss captain during the home opener. Harper captured a gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and won the silver medal in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Rams Enhance Fan Experience at Edward Jones Dome
St. Louis Rams fans attending games at the Edward Jones Dome this fall will see a variety of fan enhancements including a new team store, a play space for kids, discounted concessions and expanded menu offerings as well as promotional items for select games.

The Rams Official Team Store is located on the 100-level concourse near section 152.

The 3,032 sq. ft. store features brand new apparel and merchandise, including a dedicated women’s wall and collections from Nike, New Era, Mitchell & Ness and ’47 Brand. Apparel and novelties are now available for men, women and children of all ages and includes both modern and retro designs.

In an effort to further the youth fan experience, the Rams teamed up with Dream Play Recreation to create a Play System displayed at the Edward Jones Dome just outside section 154 located at the Charter Red Zone Lounge. The Play System is equipped with two 90-degree enclosed tube slides, an access ramp and ladder. To ensure fan safety, the Rams constructed the Play System on 3 3/4” thick safety tiles.

The Rams also discounted pricing on beer, pizza and bottled beverages as well as an assortment of other food and drinks.  New low prices include $5 draught beer (12 oz.), $5 bottled water, soda and Gatorade in addition to $7 bottomless soda. The prices of 16 oz. plastic bottles of beer have also been dropped to $7.75 while pizza slices have been lowered to $7. A new $5 kid’s meal will be available on both the 100- and 400-level concourse, which includes a choice of peanut butter & jelly or macaroni and cheese, fruit and milk.

Additionally, many healthy options will now be available at concession stands throughout the Edward Jones Dome in 2012. These items include a gluten-free mixed-green salad with toasted almonds, cranberries and blue cheese, a slow-roasted turkey and provolone sandwich, and roasted red-pepper hummus with pretzel chips.

Rams Players and Front Office Executives Purchase Tickets for Youth to Attend Game
The following players are participating in the “Rams’ All-Community Team” ticket donation program: Sam Bradford, Michael Brockers, Craig Dahl, Harvey Dahl, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Cortland Finnegan, Bradley Fletcher, Chris Givens, Mario Haggan, William Hayes, Josh Hull, Steven Jackson, Lance Kendricks, Kendall Langford, James Laurinaitis, Chris Long, Rocky McIntosh, Quintin Mikell, Isaiah Pead, Austin Pettis, Brian Quick, Robert Quinn, Rodger Saffold, Eugene Sims, Darian Stewart, Robert Turner and Scott Wells.

Head coach Jeff Fisher has also signed on to participate in the program. Each week, Fisher will donate 99 tickets to a group or organization, with that total being matched by Vinson Mortgage Group. General manager Les Snead, executive vice president of football operations/chief operating officer Kevin Demoff and executive vice president of sales and marketing/chief revenue officer Bob Reif are also participating in the program.

St. Louis Rams Official Bud Light Tailgate Party at Baer Park
The Bud Light Tailgate Party at Baer Park is located on Broadway directly across from the Edward Jones Dome. Every 2012 home game will feature one of St. Louis’ top bands beginning on Sunday at 12 p.m. when Dick & Jane takes the stage. Fans can also enjoy appearances from Rams Cheerleaders and Rams alumni and reduced pricing on food and beverages as well as an interactive kids’ corner.

This year the tailgate party will extend to the McGuire lot located north of the Edward Jones Dome. Rams partners Anheuser-Busch, Red Bull, Mobile On the Run and SubZero Vodka Bar will be offering on-site vending of their products.

The Fun Continues in the Bud Light Party Zone
Fans looking to enter the Edward Jones Dome early can enjoy the Bud Light Party Zone – the largest sports bar in St. Louis, which is available to all ticket holders. For early admittance to the Bud Light Party Zone, fans can enter gate C beginning at 12:30 p.m. All gates will open at 1:00 p.m.
