Rams Re-Sign TE Harkey

Posted Mar 15, 2016

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in 2012, TE Cory Harkey will remain with the team on a new deal.

The Rams continue to re-sign their own free agents, coming to terms with tight end Cory Harkey.

Known more for his blocking and special teams skills than his pass catching ability, Harkey has often served as a fullback in the Rams’ offensive scheme. Last year, he was instrumental in opening up holes for running back Todd Gurley, en route to the 2015 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year’s 1,106 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.

Harkey originally signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He’s played in 52 games, making 29 starts over the course of his career. He’s caught 27 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns and made 12 special teams tackles in four seasons with the club.
