The American Red Cross and St. Louis Rams Hold Holiday Mail for Heroes PLAY 60 School Competition

Posted Oct 25, 2013

This holiday season, the American Red Cross and the St. Louis Rams are encouraging schools in the St. Louis area to participate in the Red Cross’ annual Holiday Mail for Heroes project for a chance to win a Rams PLAY 60 assembly with a player appearance.

The American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program empowers people to “Give Something That Means Something” by sending a card of thanks and support to the members of the Armed Forces, veterans or their families. Featured on the card is Rams defensive end Chris Long, who is chairing the campaign this year.

NFL PLAY 60 is the National Football League’s campaign to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in order to help reverse the trend of childhood obesity.  The PLAY 60 Challenge Assembly is a fun and educational way to promote health and fitness in a game-show format that can engage both small and large audiences.

Schools looking to participate in the Holiday Mail for Heroes project can contact Kelsey Vaughan at or 314-516-2789 by Friday, November 15.

For fans looking to participate in the campaign, there will be card stations set up at various locations throughout the Edward Jones Dome during the Military Appreciation Game on November 3. Download the guidelines.
