Each week, while two teams compete on the field during NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football matchup, two deserving youth health and fitness projects from the corresponding cities will face off in the NFL PLAY 60 DonorsChoose.org Showdown.
Based on fan votes, NFL PLAY 60 will fully fund the winning project, while the other project will get 50 percent funding toward its goal.
St. Louis fans can vote to provide Mrs. Gorecki’s students at Shaw Visual and Performing Arts School with storage equipment to help organize the balls in the gym closet. Fans can vote once an hour by visiting www.NFLRUSH.com/choose. Voting will close after the St. Louis Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers Thursday Night Football game at 10:59 CST.
“My students are constantly asking to play with a ball for recess, but can never get to the equipment since it is in the back of the closet,” said Gorecki. “By having a tool to organize the closet, the students will be able to locate the equipment they want to play with immediately.”
Shaw Visual and Performing Arts School is a Pre-K through 5th grade school in the St. Louis Public School District. 95 percent of the students receive free and reduced lunch. The student body represents diverse ethnic and socioeconomic groups in a choice urban school.
