Daily Dose: L.A.'s Pro Bowl Snub

Each weekday, theRams.com will be taking a look around the internet for the top Rams headlines of the day. Here's a look at what's out there for Wednesday, December 19th about your Los Angeles Rams.

NFL.com's Nick Shook has his list Pro Bowl snubs after Tuesday night's roster release. For the Rams, Shook says veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth should be headed to Orlando come January.

Andrew Whitworth, OT, Los Angeles Rams

Whitworth received his due credit last season, his debut with the Rams after spending the first 11 seasons of his career in Cincinnati. His arrival directly impacted Los Angeles' turnaround under Sean McVay, and he hasn't slowed in his second campaign in the City of Angels. Whitworth currently ranks seventh among all tackles in the NFL, per PFF, serving as a crucial part of an offense that has spent the majority of the season putting up big numbers en route to a second straight NFC West crown. The three tackles who made it ahead of Whitworth (Terron Armstead, Tyron Smith and Trent Williams) are all deserving, but this feels like a mistake -- or, at the very least, an oversight.

Whitworth, however, is a first alternate — so he could be on his way to his fifth career Pro Bowl. To view all of Shook's Pro Bowl snubs, click here.

The Rams' clinching scenario remains the same a week after suffering their third loss of the season. Los Angeles controls its own destiny with sights set on a first-round bye with two games remaining, but could get some help from the 49ers as they clash with the Bears this week in San Francisco.

Selected to his third overall Pro Bowl, running back Todd Gurley leads the league in rushing touchdowns, and ranks second in total rushing yards and yards per game (89.4). Overall, Gurley also leads the league with 21 total touchdowns.
