Rams Power Rankings: Final Regular Season Edition

The Rams are headed to the NFC playoffs. As the NFC West division champions and the No. 3 seed in the conference, the club will make its first playoff appearance since 2005 — hosting the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday night.

Every week, TheRams.com will be taking an aggregate look at where the team ranks in different outlets across the sports media landscape. Here are the power rankings for the Rams at the conclusion of the regular season:

"They rested guys against the 49ers to get ready for the playoffs. Now they will face a tough challenge in the 2016 NFC-champion Atlanta Falcons."

"Opponent winning percentage: .504; 15th-hardest. The Rams finished first in scoring after finishing last in 2016, becoming just the second team to complete that turnaround according to the Elias Sports Bureau (the first was the 1965 49ers). What makes that even more impressive is the Rams played a group of opponents who finished the season above .500."

"They were one of the feel-good stories of the season. Sean McVay, the youngest head coach in modern NFL history, immediately turned Jared Goff into a franchise QB, RB Todd Gurley into an MVP candidate and the Rams into winners. They also have a defensive player of the year candidate in DT Aaron Donald. There's no telling how the Rams will handle the bright postseason spotlight. But this team is plenty talented enough to be a factor in these NFC playoffs, as long as McVay makes sure the Rams are not satisfied merely to have gotten there."

"I put zero stock in the Rams' loss in Week 17. Los Angeles was resting up to ensure it put its best foot forward on Wild Card Weekend. I agree with that decision.

The Rams are a super-talented team with some special players at key positions. They have offensive and defensive play-callers in Sean McVay and Wade Phillips who are as good as it gets. They also have a special teams unit that was one of the league's best before the injury to kicker Greg Zuerlein.

...The Rams are one of the best teams in football, and I expect them to come out of the weekend with a win."

"It's been 39 years since they last hosted playoff game in L.A. Coliseum. Hopefully Saturday goes better than their 28-0 loss to Dallas in 1979."
