The Los Angeles Rams signed kicker Sam Ficken on Monday afternoon.
The Rams welcome Ficken back to the team to replace All-Pro kicker Greg Zuerlein, who was injured in warmups before Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Ficken filled in for Zuerlein last season beginning in Week 16, when Zuerlein sustained a season-ending back injury. Ficken hit 2-of-3 field goals in two regular season games in 2017. He also made two field goals and an extra point in the Rams' playoff loss to the Falcons.
Thomas to IR
As a corresponding roster move, the Rams have placed WR Mike Thomas on injured reserve, meaning head coach Sean McVay will be without Thomas for at least eight weeks.
Thomas injured his groin Week 1 in Oakland, in the same game wide receiver and starting return man Pharoh Cooper injured his ankle.
Jamon Brown Returns
Jamon Brown's suspension has ended and he is allowed to resume team activities. The Rams currently have a roster exemption for Brown.
