Notable Seahawks additions

  • Acquired wide receiver Rashid Shaheed in a trade with the Saints on Nov. 4: Shaheed's speed has been a weapon both in the passing game and on kickoff returns since his acquisition.
  • Hired Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator on Jan. 26: Seattle ranks ninth in total yards per game and fifth in scoring offense through the first 15 weeks of the season.

Top performers in Week 15

Quarterback Sam Darnold completed 22 of 36 pass attempts for 271 yards in the Seahawks' 18-16 home win over the Colts at Lumen Field.

Running back Zach Charbonnet led Seattle's backfield with eight caries for 31 yards.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba led all Seahawks receivers with seven receptions for 113 yards.

Rookie safety Nick Emmanwori paced the Seattle defense with seven total tackles (one for loss), two passes defensed and one sack.

On special teams, kicker Jason Myers made all six of his field goal attempts – including the game-winner from 56 yards out with 18 seconds left – while punter Michael Dickson averaged 48.3 yards per punt across four punts.

Early storylines to watch, and what they mean for the Rams

The division and playoff stakes.

Both teams are fighting for not only the NFC West but playoff positioning in a game that could very well decide who ends up with the No. 1 seed in the conference by the end of the regular season.

It's also a fascinating rematch given how close of a game the first meeting was back in Week 12. Darnold threw zero touchdowns and four interceptions, and still came down to a missed 61-yard field goal by Myers as time expired to hold on for the win, so it will be interesting to see what adjustments both teams deploy in the second and final regular season meeting Thursday night.
