Kyle Hoke enters his first season with the Los Angeles Rams as a special teams assistant.
He joins the Rams after spending the previous season with the Cleveland Browns serving in the same capacity. Prior to his first year in the NFL coaching ranks, Hoke spent 13 seasons coaching at the collegiate level.
During the 2025 season, the Browns' special teams unit finished 10th in field goal percentage (89.3%). Before joining the Browns, Hoke spent one season at Texas A&M as a defensive analyst in 2024.
Prior to his stop at College Station, he spent four seasons at San Diego State coaching safeties (2020-23). During the 2021 season, SDSU led the Mountain West with 17 interceptions, which tied for fifth nationally. In 2020, the Aztecs ranked third nationally in yards per game allowed with 283.5.
In 2019, he coached safeties at Indiana State University after serving in the same capacity at Texas State in 2018.
Hoke also spent one season at John Carroll University as their defensive coordinator in 2017. He was a graduate assistant at the University of South Carolina for two seasons (2015-16) after spending one season as a defensive quality control coach at Army West Point in 2014.
Hoke began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Western Michigan for two seasons (2012-13).
He hails from a football coaching family as his father, Jon, has been a coach since 1982 with NFL stops in Houston (2002-08), Chicago (2009-14), 2023-24), Tampa Bay (2016-18) and Atlanta (2021-22). Additionally, Hoke's uncle, Brady, has been a coach since 1981, serving as the head coach at Ball State (2003-08), San Diego State (2009-10, 2020-23) and Michigan (2011-14).
He played safety at Ball State and eached a degree in sociology in 2012.
Hoke and his wife, Maddie, have a daughter, Rae, and a son, Jones.
