Gonella is entering his 11th season with the Los Angeles Rams and his first as a regional scout responsible for evaluating players in the West Coast region of the U.S.
He spent the previous eight seasons as an area scout as well as two seasons as a scouting assistant/analyst.
As a scouting assistant/analyst, Gonella evaluated players, prepared reports, and was responsible for tracking player news during the year and entering the information into the scouting database.
Gonella joined the Rams after spending two seasons at UCLA, where he served as a recruiting assistant. During his time with the Bruins, Gonella helped facilitate recruiting visits and produced highlight and point of attack tapes on prospects.
From 2012-13, Gonella was an operations assistant with the Miami Dolphins, where he helped plan and organize logistics for training camp, the team's travel, and other duties.
Gonella earned a degree in disciplinary studies from Arizona State University. While he was an undergraduate in Tempe, he served as a recruiting assistant in the football office. Upon his graduation, Gonella became a full-time employee with Sun Devils program.
A native of Petaluma, Calif., Gonella attended St. Vincent DePaul High School.
