Congratulations to our May Season Ticket Member of the Month, Shawn Mills! Shawn has been a Season Ticket Member since 2016 but has been a fan of the team since he was 6 years old in 1977. Growing up in Iowa, Shawn didn't have a local professional team to support so he became a fan of the Rams thanks to his aunt who worked in LA providing him and his brother with Rams gear. His favorite Rams memory is watching the team win the Super Bowl in their home stadium and his all-time favorite Rams player is Kurt Warner. Learn more about Shawn below!
How long have you been a Rams STM?
I have been a season-ticket member since 2016. I was ecstatic when I found out the Rams were coming home.
Share your story on how you became a Rams Fan.
I've been a Rams fan since I was six back in 1977. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and my aunt Mary worked in the ticket booth at Dodger Stadium. She would come visit us in Iowa and bring us Los Angeles Rams gear and Dodger gear. Since Iowa doesn't have any professional teams, my brother, and I both became Dodger fans and Ram Fans. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 24 and I have been here since. I also followed the Rams in St. Louis. But I honestly believe the Rams belong in Los Angeles. I was very happy when they came home. For two reasons. One I could now go to the games because I live in Los Angeles. Two, this is their home. This is where they belong.
What is your favorite Rams memory?
Standing in Sofi stadium and watching the confetti fall from the canopy after they won the Super Bowl. I was lucky enough to get picked in the lottery and buy a Super Bowl ticket. It was a day I will never forget!!
What does being a Rams fan mean to you?
It means a lot to me. I've been a lifetime fan. And I will die a Rams Fan. Rams for life!
Who is your favorite Rams player past or present? Why?
Kurt Warner. Because his story is amazing. And he's from Iowa just like me. And I have just so much respect for him. He never gave up and he won the Rams first Super Bowl.
