College: As a senior in 2019, Dotson was one of the highest graded offensive linemen in the nation and started in all 14 games. He was named an First-Team All-American by the AP, USA Today, Sports Illustrated and Pro Football Focus. Dotson became the second player in school history to earn AP All-America honors since 1994. He was also the first player in program history to be named a First-Team All-American by other publications and was also First-Team All-Sun Belt and First-Team All-Louisiana. He made his 52nd career start in the Lending Tree Bowl, which marked the second-most starts by an offensive lineman in 2019 and paved the way for a rushing attack that finished third nationally in yards per carry (6.3), fourth in rushing touchdowns (42), sixth in rushing yards per game (257.4) and seven in total rush yards (3,604). That group also ranked fifth nationally and first in the Sun Belt in sacks allowed (1.07) and participated in the East-West Shrine Bowl. As a junior in 2018, he started all 14 games and was an All-Sun Belt First-Team selection and helped block for three 700+ yard rushers. As a sophomore in 2017, Dotson started all 12 games at right guard and helped the Ragin' Cajuns rushing attack finish third in the conference. Dotson was named SecondTeam All-Sun Belt and earned his first letter. In 2016 as a redshirt freshman, he earned the starting spot at right guard in Week 2 and played in all 13 games. Dotson was named to the Sun Belt Conference's All-Newcomer team. He was a member of the scout team during his true freshman season in 2015.
Personal: Dotson was rated the no.4 guard in the state of Louisiana by Rivals coming out of high school and was a threetime all-district selection. He helped lead the Green Devils to a 13-2 record and a berth in the Class 4A state semifinals. He was also named to the Class 4A All-State team and the Nola.com/The Times Picayune All-Baton Rouge Area Football Team. Dotson played in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association AllStar Game. His father played football at Louisiana (1995-96) an dhis mother ran track at McNeese. Hus uncles, Alvin and Dennis McKinley, played in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals, respectively. Dotson majored in mass communication.
