Path After High School
Christie's first step after high school was college at UC Berkeley, and she made the most of every opportunity. She wrote for the student paper, covering everything from sports to concerts. She even wrote her own personal column. She also worked for the athletics department and joined multiple campus clubs.
Surrounded by other energized and curious people, Christie learned how to tell stories, work in fast-paced environments, and build connections, all skills that prepared her for life after college.
After graduation, she landed her first real job at the Pac-12, but when COVID hit, she was laid off. Instead of letting that setback stop her, Christie used the time to sharpen her social media skills and look for new opportunities. That work paid off when she was hired remotely to manage social media for USA Baseball, a role that helped her build her career in digital media and eventually opened the door to her current position with the Rams.
STEAM in Action
Most people probably don't see it this way, but, according to Christie social media is where art meets math. She uses the arts when she creates content that is funny, moving, or inspiring. Every post is about telling a story in a way that feels authentic and entertaining. She uses math to measure what works. Data helps her understand algorithms, track user behavior, and refine strategies so the team's content connects with more people.
This mix of creativity and analytics is what makes social media such a powerful tool. For you, it is a reminder that combining imagination with data can turn your ideas into something that reaches the world.
The Best Part of Christie's Job
Christie says the best part of her work is her team. The Rams "Social Squad" is built on respect, trust, and collaboration, and that makes their work not only successful but also fun. Together, they get to create content that fans love while supporting each other along the way.
