As part of the Rams' celebration of Women's History Month this month, the organization wants to inspire Angelenos through stories of female staff changing the game on and off the field.
We begin this year's series with Patty Vicente, Manager of Social Programming.

"It takes a village to raise a child," as the proverb goes, and that same communal support system remains important even into adulthood as that child embarks on their respective career.
For Patty Vicente, her own village is what motivates her daily.
"And by village, I mean my friends, family, neighbors, peers that have supported me from Day 1 before I even knew I wanted to work in sports," Vicente said. "They have always pushed me to be my most genuine self and work hard for everything that I want. Even on the days that feel like I'm climbing a never-ending mountain, they help get me over and give me unconditional love through it all. Beyond that, they also hold me accountable. To keep pushing through all of the long days because they're always there to cheer me on and watching me thrive. And above all, reminding me to be proud of everything I have been able to accomplish. "
That support has played a big part in her getting to where she is today as manager of social programming for the Rams. The upcoming 2026 season will mark her sixth with the organization, having first joined it as an intern back in April 2021.
In her role, Vicente handles all of of the social team's publishing calendars and communicates cross functionally on go-to-market plans. She also manages communication and execution of Social between Social and the Rams' International team in regards to the Rams' NFL Global Markets.
She said the best part of her job is the people, from members of the Rams' social team to the staff, the cheerleaders, the fans they meet on international trips and everywhere in between.
"The power sports has in bringing people together, of different background and communities, all united by their love for sports, literally warms my heart beyond anything," Vicente said. "There is so much creativity and passion in every corner of this job. Being able to learn from such a diverse group and sharing that with the world is probably my favorite part. "
Because football is still a male-dominated field in the sports industry, Vicente's identity as a woman is one of the most unique perspectives one can have for a sports team, especially for an ever-changing sector in social media.
"Along with Social ever-changing, sports are also evolving everyday and the audience has now gone beyond what is happening on the field!" she said. "People are now following teams based off player personalities, 'relatable' content and fun trends. And there are times where I have to put my 'girly cap' on and ask 'Will this resonate with the gals? Will this interest them in the sport and with our team?'".
For Vicente, it's important for young people to see a wide range of diversity in her position. She doesn't take what he does for granted, especially being in her specific position as a first-generation, Latina woman, and it's important to her to show an accessible path to those creative jobs exists.
"In terms of Creative jobs, there's not many people like me. Especially in Sports Creative positions," Vicente explained. "The people I could look up to that came from similar backgrounds as mine, were far and in between. And while it wasn't always a super accessible position, the fact that I still found this to be my professional path, means a lot to me. I get to tap into my love for sports and creativity and make a career out of it! I'm literally so lucky to have this! And I want to show young people that they can to. If you want this for yourself, you can definitely make it come true."
During her time with the Rams, Vicente has felt fortunate enough to work alongside many amazing women from diverse backgrounds. She also said the impact women have had in the sport has only continued to evolve into more and change the landscape as the years have gone by. To her, there is always space for women in both women's sports and male-dominated sports.
"There's been so many influential women in my career!" Vicente said. "The leading ladies have definitely been the past + present women on our Rams Social Team. From Jamie Han for giving me the opportunity to do this by hiring me back in 2021. And being such a huge inspiration + role model as I entered my Sports Social journey. To the women who currently make up our social team (Shoutout to Christie, Trinity + Solaire) and those who have had stints with our team during my time here (the realest ones: Catie, Ashley, Carks), they are a huge reason for so much of my professional and personal growth. From supporting me on individual projects to being amazing teammates on even the simplest + most complicated of questions, there is no me without those women who have all had a hand in my career. "
Vicente said one can celebrate women's history month by supporting women's sports in specific but meaningful ways.
"Support small-owned women businesses + lift up the women in your community, especially those in underrepresented communities," she said. "It's the little things that count and even a simple encouraging message can go a long way. "
