Ethan Evans named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 11

Rams punter Ethan Evans' pinpoint punting has earned him conference-wide recognition.

Evans on Wednesday was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 11, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Averaging 42.2 yards per punt across six punts against Seattle last Sunday with a long of 52, Evans' biggest kick came in the fourth quarter, when he landed a 50-yarder out of bounds the Seahawks 1-yard line. That punt pinned the Seahawks deep enough that they could only manage a 61-yard field goal attempt that missed short on the ensuing drive, which preserved a 21-19 Rams victory.

Evans was also the holder for a Los Angeles placekicking operation that saw kicker Harrison Mevis convert all three of his extra point attempts. Evans also handled kickoff duties for L.A., and all four of his went for touchbacks.

Evans is the third Rams player to earn NFC Player of the Week recognition this season, joining wide receiver Puka Nacua (Offensive Player of the Week for Week 4) and inside linebacker Nate Landman (Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1).

This is Evans' second NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honor of his career; he also received it for his performance in Week 11 of the 2023 season against the Seahawks.
