Starting today, fans can vote to decide when the Los Angeles Rams will wear their throwback uniforms during the 2017 season. The team is permitted to wear these uniforms for two home games this year.
The Rams Throwback Uniforms feature the royal blue jerseys with yellow accents, yellow pants with blue and white stripes, and blue helmets with the yellow horns worn by the team from 1973 through the 1999 season that culminated with the win in Super Bowl XXXIV.
There will be two votes to decide the two Throwback games. The first vote will take place starting today (Monday, May 8) at 9 AM PT through Tuesday, May 9 at 6 PM PT and fans may vote on one of four Rams home games: Indianapolis Colts (September 10), Seattle Seahawks (October 8), New Orleans Saints (November 26) and San Francisco 49ers (December 31).
The vote to determine the second Throwback game will start Wednesday, May 10 at 9 AM PT and conclude Thursday, May 11 at 6 PM PT. The games fans may vote on for the second game will be revealed on Wednesday.
Fans may vote through Rams social media handles on Facebook(www.facebook.com/Rams), Twitter (@RamsNFL), and TheRams.com/ThrowbackVote. Fans who vote on TheRams.com/ThrowbackVote also will be entered into a sweepstakes to win two tickets to one of the Throwback games along with a customized Throwback jersey from Rams Fan Shop.
Earlier this year, the Rams announced they would once again wear white uniforms at home as a modern nod to the team's history in the Coliseum and in Los Angeles. For most of their 2017 games, the Rams will wear a white-horned navy helmet with a white face mask. The pants will be white with one navy stripe down the side. No design changes are being made to their jersey which will remain the white jersey with navy and gold accents that they wore at home in 2016.
To help determine the final design of the evolved uniform, the Rams asked fans for feedback. Fans voted through Rams social media handles on Twitter (@RamsNFL) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/Rams) between one and two stripes on the pants, and between a white and navy face mask for the helmet. More than 90,000 fans voted in 48 hours. The enthusiastic response from fans inspired the decision to put the Throwback Uniform games up for a vote.
