Rams Power Rankings: Week 10

Power-rankings-week-10.jpg

In Week 9, the Rams trounced the Giants putting up 51 points and forcing three first half takeaways to improve to 6-2. With the win, Los Angeles remains undefeated in games played away from the Coliseum. But after three-straight on the road, L.A. will be back home for a Week 10 matchup with the Texans on Sunday.

Every week, TheRams.com will be taking an aggregate look at where the team ranks in different outlets across the sports media landscape. Here are the power rankings for the Rams heading into Week 10:

"Nothing like a slot receiver screen on third-and-33, huh? The most gnarly feedback received on Twitter and the "NFL Power Rankings" show this past week came as a result of the Rams being second in last week's rankings. When a team is off for a week, like Los Angeles was in Week 8, and everyone around that team wins, fans want me to drop said team automatically. Cool. So that was 51 points on the road for a team that "ruined" my credibility here. Think there's more upside, too, specifically for coordinator Wade Phillips' defense as we enter the back half of the season. This group is going to the playoffs."

"Preseason ranking: 27. The biggest risers since the preseason edition of our rankings are the Rams, who lead the NFL in scoring with 32.9 points per game. How good has the offense been? They've scored 40 points three times this season. The last time the Rams did that in a season was in 2001, when they reached Super Bowl XXXVI."

"The Rams are for real. Say whatever you will about the Giants, but it's hard to go on the road and beat any NFL team 51-17. Lost in the gushing over Jared Goff, which is justified, the Rams' defense has allowed 16, 17, 0 and 17 points the last four games. You knew Wade Phillips would get that unit going."

"The Rams are back in the driver's seat in the NFC West. The Seahawks say they aren't ready to step aside for the Rams. But the Rams might not be giving them any choice."

Change: + 2

"They're just blowing doors off their opponents lately. Some credit must go to the defense, which has allowed 12.5 points per game over last four."

"It's amazing what Sean McVay and his schemes have done for the Los Angeles Rams offense. When I watch film each week, I can't believe how many wide-open receivers I see for L.A. I've never seen anything like it. It's helped Jared Goff become the quarterback the Rams thought they were getting when they drafted him first overall."

"The Rams are a tough matchup for almost anyone. They're one of the best teams in the NFL, plain and simple, and I have a feeling they're going to make some noise in the postseason."

"They are not just a good story anymore. They are legitimate playoff contenders -- and maybe more."
