Ahead of the NFL mandated 53-man roster cut being finalized this afternoon, the Rams have announced a roster move — trading a 2018 7th round draft pick to the Redskins for tight end Derek Carrier. The move reunites Carrier with head coach Sean McVay, who previously served as the offensive coordinator at Washington.

The tight end originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Beloit College, signing with the Raiders in 2012. He has spent the last two seasons with the Redskins, where he had 19 receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown. During this year's preseason, Carrier caught two passes for 22 yards and one touchdown in Washington's exhibition contest against Cincinnati.
