The Daily Dose: Rams Post Top Passer Rating, Gurley Takes in First NHL Game

This offseason, theRams.com will be taking a look around the internet for the top Rams headlines of the day. Here's a look at what's out there for Friday, March 9th about your Los Angeles Rams:

Rams Post Top Passer Rating:

Quarterback Jared Goff underwent significant year to year improvement under first-year head coach Sean McVay. The signal caller finished the 2017 season with 3,804 yards for 28 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

The Rams also posted the top passer rating on contested passes this season with a score of 102.1, according to Pro Football Focus.  Passer rating is calculated using a player's passing attempts, completion yards, touchdowns, and interceptions.

The rating is even more impressive considering the league average for 2017 was just 61.1.

Front Seven Total Pressure Rankings:

On defense, the Rams front seven also recorded a top rating from PFF. In 2017, Los Angeles finished with 274 total pressures — tied for the second-most in the league.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald led the charge in this regard, recording 91 quarterback pressures on his own.

Gurley Takes in an LA Kings Game:

Running back Todd Gurley took in his first ever NHL game on Thursday night. The AP Offensive Player of the Year was on hand at the Staples Center to cheer on the L.A. Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Washington Capitals.

In an interview with Fox Sports West, Gurley said he loved the energy inside the arena and was really enjoying his first hockey game. He was also asked what fans can expect from the Rams in 2018, saying, "Sky's the limit."

"We just have to focus in this offseason and get a little bit better next year," Gurley said.
