A two-way lineman as a senior, he primarily played center on offense at Caparral High in Temecula.
In 2017 as a senior, had 15 tackles with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble on defense, despite playing most of his snaps on offense.
As a junior in 2016, made Cal-HI Sports All-State Junior First-Team and Riverside Press-Enterprise All-Area Second-Team.
Also played soccer at Chaparral, with a 1.333 goals against average as a goalkeeper.
