Meet Holden

Holden Tamchin is the Sr. Manager of Strategy & Analytics for the Rams and Hollywood Park. His job is all about solving problems with numbers and turning complex data into insights that help make big decisions. Whether he's analyzing statistics, creating ways to get work done efficiently, or explaining technical ideas in plain language, Holden makes sure information leads to action.

Path After High School

After high school, Holden went to college, where he explored a variety of subjects and began developing the skills he uses today. He started out in mechanical engineering but later realized he didn't want to spend his entire career in that field. That led him to graduate school, where he expanded his skillset and opened the door to the analytics career he has today.

STEAM in Action

Holden uses multiple parts of STEAM in his role:

  • Math: Analytics is built on math and statistics
  • Technology: Computer programs help process large amounts of data
  • Engineering: Designing systems to handle complex information
  • Science: Testing different ideas and scenarios, just like the scientific method

Career Curveball

Moving away from engineering as a career path was a big turning point for Holden. It wasn't easy to step away from the career he started in, but making that change allowed him to find a role that better matched his skills and passions.

Behind the Scenes

Holden's job may sound like it's all about numbers, but he says it's really a mix of art and science. There isn't always a clear answer. Instead, he has to balance data with creativity to help the team succeed.

The Best Part of Holden's Job

For Holden, the best part of his work is combining a love of sports with his career. Working with like-minded, passionate people makes the job meaningful every day.

Holden's Advice for Students
