Rams Women's History Month Staff Showcase with Yoojin Park: Strong relationships with women in the workplace have helped her grow in male-dominated industries

As part of the Rams' celebration of Women's History Month this month, the organization wants to inspire Angelenos through stories of female staff changing the game on and off the field.

We continue this year's series with Yoojin Park, International Manager.

YOOJIN 16x9

Yoojin Park joined the Rams last May as a manager in the international department. She focuses on everything happening on the ground across the Rams' seven Global Markets Program (GMP) markets — Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, China, Korea and the UAE.

Getting to immerse herself in different cultures is the best part of her job.

"One day, I am in Mexico City for Día de los Muertos event; a week after, we open a pop-up experience in Shanghai. Shortly after, we host a youth clinic in Melbourne," Park said. "At the same time, a youth community program is launched in Japan and Rampage read 'Ride with Rampage' book with 1,000 Japanese kids. I might not physically travel all the time, but I always feel like I'm traveling 24/7.

"Every market has different level of maturity, but each one brings unique values. It's challenging but fun to mix and match assets across markets to show up in a more cohesive way. In that context, I'm always keen to follow our L.A. experiences so I can tailor them for international markets. If you have anything interesting, please let me know! "

Park said that she is from a "conservative culture," which makes her care more about equal access to sports. She's worked at male-dominated company before, so she knows how important it is for young people to see "a group of female employees lifting each other up," she said. "I think that kind of culture can empower young people more than a single person can."

Park believes that working with a relatable leader is "crucial," and she's learned from every manager she's worked with, maintaining strong relationships with most of them. Stephanie Cheng, head of international and special projects with the Rams, is the first person who she wanted to grow with.

"I think I met the right leader at the right time," Park said. "I learn efficiency, work ethic, leadership, and relationship-building from her every day. And it helps me shape my perspective and find my voice in the workspace."

Ultimately, her biggest motivation is getting people to smile at the events she contributes to.

As someone who's relatively new to the sports industry, Park is grateful to be part of the NFL and hopes sports jobs become more accessible to women. She thinks people should celebrate women's History Month by "sending appreciation to those who paved the way for us! "
