Rams offensive lineman Rob Havenstein on Tuesday announced his retirement after 11 seasons, all with the team.
Here's a look back at some of his greatest moments with the franchise:
5) Signing a 4-year contract extension with Rams in August 2018
One of the holdovers from the St. Louis era as well as the previous coaching staff, Havenstein was rewarded for not only his consistency, but representing all the things then-second year head coach Sean McVay wanted the team to be about.
General manager Les Snead on draft night 2015 said "with big Rob, he's ready to play," and Havenstein proceeded to start 43 of 48 possible regular season games in his first three seasons prior to signing that extension.
4) Signing three-year extension with the Rams in September 2022
A week after being voted team captain, Havenstein signed a three-year extension with the team, his second multi-year extension signed with the team and one that ensured he would ultimately finish his career in the horns.
3) Winning Super Bowl LVI
After coming up short in Super Bowl LIII against the Patriots, Havenstein helps guide the Rams offensive line whose protection propels the game-winning drive led by Matthew Stafford.
2) Reaching the Top 10 in franchise history in career starts
Havenstein's start in Week 16 against the Jets in 2024 moved him into the Top 10 in franchise history in career starts. He started in all 148 regular season games he appeared in; those 148 starts rank seventh in franchise history.
1) Being voted a captain by teammates for the first time in 2022
The retirement of veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth – also a close friend of Havenstein – left a big leadership void that Havenstein seamlessly and authentically filled.
"You kind of see the picture of, 'Hey, meet our new captains,' and you've got five first-ballot Hall of Famers, and then my picture is slapped up on there, so it's definitely a good crowd to keep," Havenstein said back on September 4, 2022.
It kicked off a streak of four straight seasons in which he earned the designation from his peers.
