• Was named the Walter Payton Award winner, given to the top player in the FCS, as a senior in 2013.
• Was the FCS ADA National Offensive Player of the Year, the FCS ADA National Quarterback of the Year Award winner, the CFPA FCS Quarterback of the Year, and was named an All-American his final year at Eastern Illinois.
• Put together the best season by an Ohio Valley Conference quarterback, breaking virtually every OVC season and career record while leading his team to a 12-2 overall record, a second-straight OVC Championship, and a berth in the FCS Playoff quarterfinals.
• Threw for 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns and rushed for four touchdowns as a senior. His passing touchdown mark was the fourth-most in FCS history and his passing yards mark is second all-time.
• Is one of just two players in FCS history to eclipse 5,000 passing yards in a season.
• His 118 touchdown career touchdown passes ranks sixth in FCS history while his 13,156 career passing yards ranks seventh.
• In 2013, he directed Eastern Illinois to the no.1 ranked offense nationally in terms of yards per game and scoring offense. Garoppolo threw for 400 or more yards in five contests and six other games with over 300 yards passing. He threw a touchdown in all but one game during the 2013 campaign.
• Was named FCS National Player of the Week on three occasions in 2013 and a record-tying nine times in his career, tying the OVC all-time mark.
• Finished 10th in voting for the Walter Payton Award and earned Second-Team All-OVC honors as a junior in 2012. Finished that season ranked fifth in the FCS in total offense and sixth in passing yards per game.
• Was twice named OVC Offensive Player of the Week and threw for more than 400 yards in a game. Recorded six games with 300 or more passing yards.
• In 2011 as a sophomore, he started all 11 games and completed 217-of-349 passes for 2,644 yards and 20 touchdowns.
• As a freshman in 2010, Garoppolo started the final eight games of the season and earned All-Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer Team honors after passing for 1,639 yards and 14 touchdowns.

PERSONAL

• Was a standout quarterback at Rolling Meadows High School. Passed for 1,888 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior, earning Northwest Suburban All-Area honors. He also rushed for 563 yards and seven touchdowns.
• Led his team to the Mid-Suburban East League championships and an IHSA Class 7A playoff berth.
• Had an impressive campaign his junior year, passing for 2,072 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 552 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Garoppolo majored in management.
