The Rams are headed south for a road game against the Saints in New Orleans in Week 13. Kickoff on Sunday from Caesars Superdome is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. PT on FOX.
In advance of the contest, here are 3 Keys to Winning for the Rams, presented by The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani (CallJacob.com).
1) Establish the run
As noted on this week's edition of Between the Horns, the Saints are allowing the 9th-most rushing yards per game (134.2). A strong, efficient run game led by running back Kyren Williams will not only take pressure off of quarterback Matthew Stafford, but also help the Rams stay ahead of schedule on early downs to avoid third-and-longs that have contributed to those third down issues.
2) Minimize the impact of Kamara and Hill
Running back Alvin Kamara remains as big a threat as ever in both the run game and the pass game for New Orleans' offense. Just like last week, rush lane and gap integrity will be crucial for Los Angeles' defense.
That also applies to swiss-army knife tight end Taysom Hill, who had 7 carries for 138 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, plus 8 receptions for 50 yards. Knowing and communicating where both are at all times is the first step toward ensuring they don't wreck this game.
3) Have a clean passing performance
New Orleans' pressure rate of 30% ranks sixth-lowest, and their sack rate of 5.6% eighth-lowest, according to Next Gen Stats. Should that again be the case on Sunday, Stafford should have ample time to throw and avoid turnover-worthy pass attempts.
