Checking in on the Rams' 2025 draft class at the bye week

The Rams' 2025 draft class was the smallest of the Sean McVay era, comprised of just six players this spring – one of which did not make the initial 53-man roster.

So, how has what became a five-man class by late August fared through the first seven weeks of the season? Let's take a look.

TE Terrance Ferguson (Round 2, Pick 46)

The former Oregon standout has been active for five of Los Angeles' first seven games and has started to see more offensive snaps over the last two weeks especially. He recorded his first career touchdown via a 31-yard catch last week against Jacksonville, and two weeks earlier recorded his first career catch, a 21-yard gain that went for a third-down conversion.

OLB Josaiah Stewart (Round 3, Pick 90)

Another third-round find who has been a great fit for the outside linebacker room and defense as a whole, anytime a rookie is referred to as a "stud" – often the highest form of praise from head coach Sean McVay and defensive coordinator Chris Shula – tells you how highly that player is viewed. Stewart has been stout against the run and as a pass rusher, collecting two sacks and registering a 14.5% pressure rate that is highest among all Rams outside linebackers through the first seven games, per Next Gen Stats. Shula in September called Stewart "an every down player."

He has eight total tackles and two sacks while playing in all seven of the Rams' games so far.

RB Jarquez Hunter (Round 4, Pick 117)

Similar to Ferguson, the experience ahead of Hunter at his position hasn't afforded him many opportunities so far. He's been active for five of Los Angeles' first seven games, but all 22 of his snaps played so far have come on special teams.

DT Ty Hamilton (Round 5, Pick 148)

Hamilton also has established and/or experienced talent in front of him in his position group, so he too hasn't had as many opportunities. He has played as many as 21.2% (Week 2) and as few as 3.6% of the team's defensive snaps (Week 5) while active in six of the team's first seven games (inactive Week 1 vs. Houston).

He has five total tackles and one QB hit across six games.

The Los Angeles Rams take on the Jacksonville Jaguars for an international game during week 7 of the 2025 NFL regular season.

WR Konata Mumpfield (Round 7, Pick 242)

Active for all seven of the Rams' games so far, Mumpfield has played at least 10% of their offensive snaps in six of those game so far, most recently a season-high 41.9% after wide receiver Tutu Atwell – who had been on the injury report with a hamstring injury but had no designation going into Week 7 – was limited after Los Angeles' first drive against Jacksonville. He caught his first career touchdown versus the Jaguars last week, one week after recording his first career reception in the Rams' win over Baltimore.

Similar to his classmates, the experience ahead of him in his own position group has likely been a factor in his playing time, as well as the Rams' reliance on 12 personnel with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams the two wide receivers on the field in those two-tight end sets.
