Rams sign CB Tre Brown to one-year deal

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Monday afternoon, Rams head coach Sean McVay said the team planned to bring someone in after placing veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon on Injured Reserve (IR) with a broken clavicle.

Less than 24 hours later, the Rams on Tuesday signed former Seahawks and 49ers cornerback Tre Brown.

Brown, 27, was most recently with San Francisco, who initially placed him on IR in late August after he suffered a heel injury in training camp, before reportedly releasing off of IR with an injury settlement earlier this month.

Prior to his stint with the 49ers, Brown recorded 74 total tackles, eight passes defensed and two interceptions – one of which was returned 40 yards for a touchdown in 2023 – across 39 games (13 starts) playing his first four seasons in Seattle.

He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick (137th overall) by the Seahawks out of Oklahoma in 2021.
