A MISTAKE TO AVOID

Bleacher Report's Chris Roling has one mistake each NFL team should avoid this offseason, and for the Rams, he says the club should not be too quick to pull the trigger on re-signing some of its recognizable names.

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. safety Lamarcus Joyner, and offensive lineman Rodger Saffold are all preparing to hit the free agent market, and Roling says the Rams have let big names walk before — and they should again.

"None of them should have the Rams writing blank checks. And avoiding doing so would be business as usual for the Rams, who have mastered the compensatory process. They have let other notable names such as Sammy Watkins and Janoris Jenkins walk, and the above guys shouldn't be any different."

TODD's FEELING GOOD

NFL Network's Marc Sessler shared a clip of head coach Sean McVay speaking about the health of running back Todd Gurley from the NFL Combine on Thursday morning.

McVay said his star back is "feeling good" and continued to shoulder the blame for Gurley's lack of action in Super Bowl LIII.

MJD THE GM

NFL.com analyst and Rams radio color commentator Maurice Jones-Drew put on his general manager cap for all 32 teams entering the offseason and landed on three moves each club should make ahead of the 2019 season.

Here's what MJD would focus on if he was running the show in L.A.:

1) Find an edge rusher. The Rams had one of the best interior pass rushes in the league, but they struggled coming off the edge. They tried to address the need by acquiring Dante Fowler in October and he did play well for L.A. I don't think he will be back in 2019, though. That said, there are plenty of edge rushers available in free agency. Or go draft one on Day 1 or 2.

2) Draft a safety. The Rams lose Lamarcus Joyner to free agency if they don't tag or re-sign him, so they must find someone to fill the void. They are looking for a middle-of-the-field roamer, perhaps Washington's Taylor Rapp late in the first round.

3) Replace Ndamukong Suh. Suh's one-year deal is up, and I don't see L.A. bringing him back. Les Snead needs to find a big space eater to help with the run.
