First Look: Rams kick off 2025 preseason hosting Cowboys at SoFi Stadium

The Rams begin their three-week preseason schedule hosting the Cowboys on Saturday at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff in Inglewood, Calif. is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT on Rams TV affiliate KABC.

The radio broadcast can be found on ESPNLA 710 AM and KWKW 1330 AM.

In advance of the contest, here is your First Look at Rams-Cowboys.

Notable Cowboys additions

  • Acquired wide receiver George Pickens in a trade with the Steelers. The Cowboys also received a 2027 sixth-round pick in this deal in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick to solidify having a quality WR2 behind CeeDee Lamb.
  • Signed running backs Javonte Williams on March 12 and Miles Sanders on March 15. Dallas let 2024 leading rusher Rico Dowdle walk in free agency after his one-year contract expired. Between the additions of Williams and Sanders and drafting Texas' Jaydon Blue in the draft, the Cowboys' running back room will look much different compared to last season.

Top performers in 2024

Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 185 of 286 pass attempts (64.7%) for 1,978 yards and 11 touchdowns against eight interceptions in an injury-shortened season that limited him to just eight games played (all starts).

Dowdle helmed the Cowboys' backfield with 235 carries for 1,079 yards and two touchdowns, adding 39 receptions for 249 yards and three touchdowns.

Lamb led Dallas' receivers with 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns en route to his fourth-straight Pro Bowl selection.

Defensively, outside linebacker Micah Parsons recorded 12 sacks, his fourth-consecutive season with at least that many, and did so in 13 games. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown had a breakout debut season with 90 total tackles and five sacks in 13 games after missing all of his 2023 rookie season with a torn ACL.

On special teams, kicker Brandon Aubrey made 40 of 47 field goal attempts and 30 of 30 extra point attempts, while punter Bryan Anger averaged 48.5 yards per punt.

Early storylines to watch, and what they mean for the Rams

Borrowing from one of the five things learned from training camp, the play of quarterback Stetson Bennett.

Head coach Sean McVay noted how he was smiling a lot more, and it was clear this was the most comfortable he has looked operating L.A.'s offense. Additionally, McVay early in camp said quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo won't play in any preseason games, so Bennett is due to receive even more reps than he got in training camp. That's a big opportunity to build on the confidence he gained over the last two weeks at Loyola Marymount.
