Feature: Given season just ended, too soon for Cobie Durant to think about future

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Rams cornerback Cobie Durant was gracious enough to speak with reporters Monday morning as players cleaned out their lockers. However, that was also less than 24 hours after their season-ending loss to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game, so Durant understandably was not ready to discuss his future.

"I can't really talk about the future when we just lost a game like that," Durant said Monday.

An impending unrestricted free agent, Durant had three interceptions and seven passes defensed across the Rams' three playoff games. In the regular season, he posted those same numbers in those categories – and returned one of those picks for a touchdown – while starting in 15 of 17 games.

"It's a team effort," Durant said. "They allowed me to play good. Everybody had their games where you're not gonna be 100% perfect every play, every down, every game. Just being able to have that trust from them, and allowing me to go play free and just be the Landshark, that's really it."

Durant was proudest of the team giving the season everything they had, and playing 11 as one. Coming in each day, Durant said "You could tell that when we come to work, we happy, we happy to be here." Coming to work with this brotherhood is what made the group special.

If he does return to that group, Durant aims to pick up where the secondary left off in attempting to prove critics wrong.

"Just building off of what we did this year and just making a name for ourselves, because every year, they always say we're a terrible secondary," Durant said.
