Training Camp Injury Updates: Kobie Turner (back) and Terrance Ferguson (groin) held out of Saturday's practice; Nate Landman (calf) leaves practice as precautionary measure; latest on Matthew Stafford ahead of joint practice with Cowboys

LOS ANGELES – Rams head coach Sean McVay said defensive end Kobie Turner was held out of Saturday's training camp practice because his "back's bothering him a little bit," while tight end Terrance Ferguson was held out because of a "little bit of a groin" injury.

McVay said they were going to be "smart" with both players, indicating taking a cautious approach.

Additionally, linebacker Nate Landman left Saturday's practice as a with a "little bit of a calf" injury, though him leaving practice was just a precautionary measure, per McVay.

Meanwhile, McVay said quarterback Matthew Stafford (back soreness) would "probably not" practice on Sunday, and that Stafford will not participate in Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys in Oxnard, reiterating Stafford's week-to-week timeline. Stafford saw back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins again on Saturday, according to McVay.

"It truly is a week-to-week thing," McVay said. "And what I don't want to do is set a timeline. I know he's making good progress. (He) saw Dr. Watkins again today. Everything is in good shape."

McVay said Stafford's status for the team's Aug. 13 joint practice with the Chargers is still to be determined.
