Torry Holt among 26 modern-era player semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2026

Former Rams wide receiver Torry Holt is one of 26 modern-era player finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2026, the hall of fame announced Tuesday.

It marks Holt's 12th time as a semifinalist. He is one of five wide receivers who are semifinalists for the upcoming class, alongside Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith Sr., Hines Ward and Reggie Wayne.

Holt registered 920 career receptions for 13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns in 11 NFL seasons, 10 of which were played with the Rams. He recorded eight-consecutive seasons of 80 or more receptions and 1,000 or more receiving yards during his Rams tenure, highlighted by his career-high 117 catches for 1,696 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2003 which earned him AP First Team All-Pro that year.

Additionally, he posted an NFL-record 1,300 or more receiving yards across six-straight seasons from 2000-2005.

Holt also garnered Second Team All-Pro Recognition in 2006 and was later named to the NFL's 2000s All-Decade Team.

Drafted sixth overall out of North Carolina State in 1999, Holt's 52 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie season made an instant impact. He tallied seven catches for 109 yards and one touchdown in St. Louis' 23-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans to help the Rams to a Super Bowl XXXIV victory that season.

The next step in the voting process will be the full Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee trimming the list to 15 finalists; those voting results will be announced in late December. From there, the 20 total finalists – 15 modern-era candidates, three seniors, one coach and one contributor – will be voted on in January. The Pro Football hall of fame's class of 2026 will be announced at NFL Honors in San Francisco in February, then enshrined in Canton, Ohio, in August.

Although there is no set number for any class of enshrinees, the Hall of Fame's selection process bylaws stipulate the selection of four to eight new members.
