Entering his third season as an offensive assistant, Jones has primarily worked with the offensive line during his time on staff.
Prior to joining the Rams, Jones spent the 2020 season in the NFL as an Diversity Coaching Fellow working with the offensive line with the Atlanta Falcons.
Jones spent the 2019 season as the co-special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at Colorado State University. Under his tutelage, the CSU special teams units made major improvements from the prior season including net punting going from 88th nationally to sixth, punt return defense going from 129th nationally to 33rd. He directly oversaw the punt and kickoff units as Ryan Stonehouse was named first-team all-conference at the punter spot.
Additionally, Trey McBride was named first-team all-conference after leading the league in catches by a tight end (45), yards (560) and touchdowns (four).
In 2018, he coached tight ends at The Air Force Academy and served as punt coordinator, offensive tackles & tight-ends coach at Coastal Carolina from 2012-18
Jones was a four-year letterman at the University of Georgia from 2003-06, where he was named second-team All-SEC at center, was elected co-captain in 2006 and earned offensive MVP and the Coaches Leadership Award for the Bulldogs as a senior. The Bowdon, Ga. native was also the recipient of the Leon Farmer Strength and Conditioning Award and was chosen for the Academic Roundtable for excellence in the classroom and on the field.
Following his collegiate career, Jones played for the Seattle Seahawks from 2007-09 before beginning his coaching career at the University of Georgia as an offensive graduate assistant in 2010.
Jones and his wife, Katie, have one son, Deuce.
