Rams safety Kam Curl grew up with two loving parents who encouraged his dream of becoming a professional football player, and helped him get there. Thinking about the alternative, growing up in the foster care system without resources or support, is what drew him to The RightWay Foundation.
"I'm very grateful with how my cards were played out, being in a two-parent household, just being able to have that family, have that support system because some people don't, and that can take a toll on you," Curl told theRams.com. "It just makes me be really grateful for what I have."
The RightWay Foundation focuses on helping transition-age foster youth get and keep good jobs in Los Angeles County. According to the organization’s website, they provide them with "the resources they need to thrive and build a better tomorrow, grounded in mental health, launched by supportive housing, and solidified through employment and community."
Curl will support The RightWay Foundation with custom cleats displaying their name in Week 12 for My Cause My Cleats for the second-straight season.

The RightWay Foundation provides supportive housing, job-readiness and placement, mental health services, financial literacy and community to help transition-age foster care youth "build stable adult lives."
Curl's agent connected him with the agency during the spring, and the Rams safety went to meet with some of their employees. He came out impressed with their mission, and the "kind-hearted people" who run the foundation.
Curl's parents have been with him for every step of his football journey since he started playing at 6 years old. They drove him to early-morning games and practices, supporting him throughout it all. Curl's dad is often active on social media as well, giving his son public admiration and praise.
"I feel like (their mission) really hit home because I didn't have to do that," Curl said. "Just thinking about being in that situation, as those kids, some of them feel helpless, and for them, helping them out, that really hit right with me."
Curl supported the foundation for My Cause My Cleats last season, but hadn't met with them at that time. He now has "some things in the works" to partner with them further and help out foster youth.
