Top 5 plays from Rams' defense through first seven weeks of 2025 season

With seven weeks of the season in the books, the Rams' defense has made some spectacular plays to help L.A. to a 5-2 record heading into the bye.

Here are the top five plays from the Rams' defense so far.

5) Safety Quentin Lake's first career interception against the Ravens

Quarterback Cooper Rush stepped up in the pocket and fired over the middle to wide receiver Zay Flowers, but Lake undercut the route and leapt in front to pick off the pass and set L.A. up in Baltimore territory.

4) Outside linebacker Jared Verse's strip-sack of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts

The Rams recovered on Philadelphia's 10-yard line. Inside linebacker Nate Landman jumped on the ball and the Rams scored a touchdown on the next play, giving them a 26-7 lead at the beginning of the third quarter.

3) Outside linebacker Byron Young's fourth-quarter strip-sack of Titans quarterback Cam Ward

The Rams recovered just outside the red zone, setting up a short-field touchdown drive. That play built momentum in the Rams' 33-19 victory, and head coach Sean McVay called it "the game-changing play." It was Young's second sack of the game.

2) Safety Kam Curl's interception of Colts quarterback Daniel Jones with one minute remaining in a seven-point game

With time running out, Jones tried to hurl a pass downfield, but Curl high-pointed the ball for his second interception of the game (which was just Jones' third of the season) and L.A. came out with the victory, 27-20. It's the Colts' only loss of the season thus far.

1) Landman's forced fumble with under two minutes remaining in a five-point game against the Texans

With Houston driving down the field late, Landman punched the ball out of Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale's arms just after crossed the Rams' 20-yard line. Defensive end Braden Fiske went full extension for the recovery to help ice the game for L.A.
