5 players to watch: Rams vs. Chargers, 2025 Preseason Week 2

The Rams continue their 2025 preseason schedule with a home matchup against the Chargers on Saturday at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff in Inglewood, Calif. is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. pacific time on Rams TV affiliate ABC7.

Here are five players fans should be watching during the contest:

Wearing the green dot as the on-field signal caller, Paul picked up right from where he left off when he held that role at Ole Miss with his poise, command and communication. Defensive coordinator Chris Shula will call the defense this week after inside linebackers coach Greg Williams did it last week, so it remains to be seen whether Paul will once again wear the green dot or if the coaching staff will let someone else gain experience with it, but he's still a player to watch closely in the middle of the defense regardless.

Smith led all Rams receivers with three catches for 55 yards last week against the Cowboys as an explosive downfield target for quarterback Stetson Bennett.

Much like in training camp and joint practices, the way Hunter finished runs was one of the things that stood out the most in the preseason opener as he finished with 11 carries for 41 yards.

The Cowboys game was the most comfortable Bennett looked operating the Rams offense. It will worth watching him to see how he builds on that performance, in which he completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns against one interception.

Lampkin's blocking (pancakes) drew plenty of attention to his performance in the preseason opener from multiple analysts. Being undersized for the center position didn't get in the way of Lampkin playing to his strengths, and with leverage, last week against Dallas.
