Game Recap: Rams blow out Cardinals 45-17 in Arizona

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The Rams (10-3) dominated the Cardinals 45-17 on Sunday at State Farm Stadium.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford's connection with wide receiver Puka Nacua and an efficient run game helped Los Angeles quickly put away Arizona (3-10). The victory gave the Rams their seventh season with at least 10 in nine years under head coach Sean McVay.

The Rams' backfield duo of running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum continued their efficient ways, as Corum rushed for a career-high 128 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while Williams chipped in 13 carries for 84 yards and one touchdown. That adds up to a combined 25 carries for 212 yards and three touchdowns, good for an average of 8.5 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Nacua finished with seven catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns, his first multi-receiving-touchdown game of his career. He finished three receiving yards shy of tying his career high. Stafford finished 22 of 31 passing for 281 yards and three touchdowns.

Here is the complete game recap:

The Cardinals opened the game with a five-play, 67-yard touchdown scoring drive to take an early 7-0 lead.

Behind an efficient run game, the Rams moved the ball quickly downfield, but after three consecutive incompletions on goal-to-go from the Cardinals' 8, they had to settle for a 26-yard field goal to trim their deficit to four at the end of the ensuing possession.

After Arizona went three-and-out, Los Angeles took the lead 10-7 via a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Corum with 1:29 left in the first quarter. The scoring drive was set up by back-to-back explosive completions of 18 and 32 yards from Stafford to Nacua.

A 38-yard field goal by Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland tied the game 10-10 midway through the second quarter, but the Rams regained lead on the following drive 17-10 via a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Williams.

Stafford's 28-yard touchdown pass to Nacua with 12 seconds left in the first half gave the Rams a 24-10 halftime lead. Ryland missed a 63-yard attempt with one second left in the first half.

Stafford's 6-yard touchdown pass to tight end Colby Parkinson with 10:09 remaining in the third quarter grew Los Angeles' lead to 21.

After a Nate Landman interception, Stafford the very next play tossed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Nacua to give the Rams a 38-10 lead late in the third quarter.

Early in the fourth, Corum broke off a 48-yard touchdown run to put the Rams up 45-10.

Brissett's 14-yard touchdown pass to Wilson with 11:08 left in the fourth quarter cut into the Rams' lead to 28, but the Cardinals never threatened that lead.
