NFL Career

College
During his time at Wisconsin, Havenstein matched the school record with 54 games played (42 starts) including 41-straight at right tackle over his final three seasons. He anchored an offensive line that led the way for two of the three best single-season rushing performances in school history at 283.3 yards per game in 2013. He blocked for three 1,000-yard rushers in Monte Ball, Melvin Gordon and James White, who where three of the top five rushers in school history. The Badgers were 39-16 while Havenstein was there. His senior year in 2014, Havenstein earned first-team All-Big Ten honors, First-team All- America (AFCA), second-team All-America (FWAA, USA Today) as well as the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. In 2013, he was named Second-team All-Big Ten by coaches and earned All-Big Team honorable mention. Havenstein made his first collegiate start against South Dakota in 2011 and redshirted during the 2010 season.Â
Personal
Havenstein was ranked by ESPN/Scouts Inc. as the No. 33 offensive tackle in the country and top offensive tackle in Maryland coming out of high school. The senior team captain was first-team all-state and all-area. As a junior, he was named first-team all-state, all-metro and all-area. Havenstein won letters in football and basketball and was named to the honor roll all four years in high school. He is the son of Gary and Cheryl Havenstein. His twin brother, Jeff, played basketball at Longwood and his sister, Holly, played basketball at Colgate. Havenstein majored in life sciences communication.
