College: Evans appeared in 12 contests during his junior season at Ole Miss in 2022. He finished the season with 936 rushing yards on 144 carries and nine touchdowns. Evans also hauled in 12 catches for 119 yards and one touchdown. His 6.5 yards per carry led the SEC and ranked tenth nationally, earning him Third-Team All-SEC accolades from Pro Football Focus. Before transferring to Ole Miss, Evans spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at TCU where he appeared in 15 career games with eight starts and averaged 7.3 yards per carry on nearly 150 rushing attempts. From 2020-21 with the Horned Frogs, Evans led all Power Five running backs in yards after contact per attempt (4.8). He led TCU in rushing yards (648) in 2021 despite playing only six games. He averaged 7.0 yards per rush with five touchdowns before being sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injury in 2021. His 7.7 yards per carry ranked second for a single season in TCU history and second nationally for a true freshman with a minimum of 50 rushes in the FBS in 2020. It marked the second-best average in the Big 12 for a true freshman dating back to 2008 and it was fourth nationally by a true freshman in a Power Five Conference over the last six seasons. He tallied 415 rushing yards as a true freshman and tied for second on the team with four rushing touchdowns.
Personal: Evans was the first five-star signee in TCU's football history. He was rated by ESPN as the nation's no. 16 overall prospect. According to 247Sports, he was the no. 2 running back nationally and the top recruit in Texas. He was selected to play in the Under Armor All-America Game after rushing for nearly 5,000 yards and 76 touchdowns in his high school career. He was the leading rusher for a North Shore team that won its second consecutive Texas 6A Division I state championship and was named 6A first-team all-state by the Texas Sports Writers Association. Evans shared MaxPreps Junior National Player of the Year honors after leading the Mustangs to a 16-0 record and the state title in 2018. That season, Evans helped North Shore become the first team from Texas to finish the year ranked no.1 nationally since 2015. As a junior, he rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was also named the Houston Chronicle Newcomer of the Year as a sophmore and the District 21-6A Newcomer of the Year. Evans also earned 2021 Second-Team Academic All-Big 12 and Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors at TCU as a multi-disciplinary studies major.
