The Los Angeles Rams have selected Florida State junior running back Cam Akers with the No. 52 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A second-team All-ACC selection, Akers rushed for 1,144 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 231 carries in 2019. In the passing game, he added 30 receptions for 225 yards and four scores while starting 11 games. As a freshman in 2017, he broke FSU's freshman rushing record with a team-high 1,024 yards on 194 carries, scoring seven touchdowns.
Akers ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at this year's NFL Scouting combine and was considered the No. 55 prospect in the draft by NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein graded him as a prospect who "will be (a) starter within his first two seasons."
