Rams select LB Clay Johnston with 234th pick

The Los Angeles Rams selected Baylor redshirt senior linebacker Clay Johnston with the No. 234 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Though a knee injury ended his final college season prematurely, Johnston's 58 tackles, eight for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, five pass breakups in six games was still good enough to earn second-team All-Big 12 honors from league coaches. The 6-foot-1, 227-pounder was also a second-team all-conference selection in 2018 after posting a team-high 99 tackles.

Similar to fellow Rams rookies Van Jefferson and Brycen Hopkins, Johnston also comes from a football family. His father, Kent Johnston, is a long-time NFL strength coach, and brothers Kody and Kole also played college football.

Rams remaining 2020 NFL Draft picks:

Round 7 - No. 248

Round 7 - No. 250
