Colby Parkinson on how the Rams' 13-personnel identity was born and the TEs embracing their role in the run game | Featured on Rams Revealed Ep. 146

In the last six games, Colby Parkinson has scored more touchdowns (six) than he did in his prior 77, combined.

Perhaps you'd heard that tidbit in the aftermath of his two-score performance in a win over Detroit in Week 15. But did you know that his next touchdown grab – which could come as soon as Thursday in Seattle against his former franchise – would set a franchise record for the most in a single season by a tight end?

"(Colby) goes to work, both in the meeting room and the practice field, as well as anyone we have on this squad," offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said this week. "He's a Ram through and through. I couldn't be happier for his individual success, which is leading to a lot of the stuff that we've been able to do offensively."

Whether the LA tight end room is the most improved or the most involved in the league is up for discussion, and it's something we addressed with the 26-year-old on a new episode of Rams Revealed. However, what may be getting lost in the 79 catches, 806 yards, and 12 touchdowns produced by Rams tight ends this season is the way they've helped pave the way for the most successful rushing attack in the NFL.

"It's all about running the ball first," Parkinson said. "As a tight end room, that's really where we can make our mark, and that's what we take pride in. Run game and pass protection. If we do those things well, I think the Rams are going to be doing alright."

"You can tell that tight end meeting room is having a lot of fun making contributions to this team and not just in the pass game, but blocking in the run game," general manager Les Snead said, while filling in on Monday's Coach McVay Show.

With Kyren Williams and Blake Corum thriving, they've each scored in three straight games and the Rams have rushed for at least 150 yards all three of those contests.

Parkinson and the Rams are in Seattle for Thursday Night Football in Week 16, with control of the NFC's top seed at stake.
