NFC WEST EXCITEMENT

NFL.com's Adam Schein said the NFC West will be the most exciting division in football in 2019 as part of his bold predictions for next season. Schein points to both L.A. and Arizona's offensive minds, defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and the new faces in San Francisco as ingredients for an exciting division.

Here's some of what he had to say about the NFC West in 2019:

"Los Angeles, the reigning NFC champion, is the obvious headliner. The Rams are an absolute show on offense under Sean McVay. Aaron Donald is must-see TV on the other side of the ball, as the best defensive player in the sport today. Meanwhile, the Niners are going to bounce back this year and sizzle with a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo. And don't sleep on the return of Jerick McKinnon, with Tevin Coleman also joining the backfield mix. Rookie DE Nick Bosa is going to sack the quarterback 10 times."

L.A.'s RISING STAR

Rising third-year safety John Johnson was a difference-maker in the Los Angeles secondary during his breakout season in 2018. He led the Rams with four interceptions, broke up 11 passes, and racked up 82 tackles. The sophomore performance earned Johnson praise from his coaching staff and peers, and landed him on Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton's list of rising stars to watch in 2019.

Here's what Moton sees in the young safety:

"John Johnson III brings versatility in spades. He can neutralize deep threats, stack the box in run support or play linebacker in sub-packages. Above all, the Boston College product performs at a high level in various roles."
